Check Out New Restaurants and MoreMidtown Detroit is becoming a popular place for many around the area. With new restaurants, apartments, and more, you have many reasons to come check it out.
So where can you find the best bars and clubs in the city? Whether you're single and ready to mingle, or just looking for a night out with your friend, the downtown area is a great place to start.
The Midtown area has become one of the hotspots for great dining and fun activities over the past few years. Just lke downtown has had a major revitalization, so has the Midtown area. It's no wonder why the area has become a popular place to go.

Let's start with Wayne State University. The university has always had a strong presence in the area, but over the past several year, more and more graduates have been staying in the city (along with other young people) contributing to lots of growth in and around the university. More restaurants and coffee shops with a variety of tastes and themes have popped up more than ever before.
I was especially happy when a Korean/Japanese restaurant was opened as I have spent a few years living in Korea (check it out...it's called Wasabi). Not to mention lots of new apartments and lofts which cater to the new crowd that is making its new home in the city of Detroit.
The area is also popular because of its culture and location. Most of Detroit major museums are located right in the heart of Midtown Detroit. You have the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Detroit Historical Museum, The Detroit Science Center, the Charles Wright Museum of African American History, and the Main Branch of the Detroit Public Library.
Personally as a child it was my favorite area of the city to go to. There was so much to explore at the museums, and in the summertime and even sometimes in the winter, there were festivals being held.

Also the location is not far from downtown, so people who want to live in Midtown not only have the luxory of all the museums and culture, but can also take a 15 minute journey (by bus or car) to downtown and experience everything there as well.
Eastern Market is also closeby and a Whole Foods will be opening up soon so you also have access to great grocery shopping. If you are looking to move back into the city (especially if you are a young person) I would recommend that you check out some of the places in Midtown Detroit and consider living here. You would have great acess to everything!
