Michigan Ski Resorts

Are you a skiier? Or want to try skiing? There are many Michigan Ski Resorts for your enjoyment. Skiing can be a great winter activity while you're in town, and the resorts have great facilities that make it easy to relax after a day of skiing (or trying to ski). Most of Michigan's higher hills and "mountains" are located in the Northern part of the Lower Peninsula or in the Upper Peninsula, but there are some great ski resorts close to the Metro Detroit area. Here I will list some of the best ski resorts that aren't to far away for driving.

Alpine Valley

Alpine Valley is a popular Michigan Ski Resort in White Lake, Michigan. The place has a great facility and is one of the best places to go if you're a beginner. Here is the breakdown on what they have:

- 25 slopes with a good mix of beginner, intermediate, and advanced
- 300 ft. vertical drop
- Ten chairlifts, ten tow ropes
- 2AM skiing on Sturday nights

Prices are as follows:

$30 on weekdays
$45 on the weekends

If you want, you can request season passes. If you want lessons, they are available, and they start at age 4.

Pine Knob

Pine Knob is another resort of many Metro Detroiters. Not only in the winter but also in the summer for golf. Here is the breakdown for Pine Knob:

- 17 runs with Easy, Intermediate, and Expert (along with Double Diamond)
- 300 ft. vertical drop
- Longest run is 1620 ft.
Double Diamond and terrain runs

The resort also has race elagues and they can make snow when the weather doesn't cooperate. Prices are as follows:

$40 for weekdays
$50 for weekends
