The Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center is one of the best hotels in Detroit

The Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center is one Detroit's more well known hotels. For one, it's part of the GM world headquarter complex. Second, the hotel is the tallest building in Michigan and you cannot miss it when you are in the city. It is also the tallest hotel in the western hemisphere.

But height is not what you're looking for of course. What about the rooms? The service? Well making hotel reservations should not be a problem unless you are visiting right in the middle of a big convention or event. The main reason for this is because the hotel has 1298 rooms.

The rooms are pretty well sized considering the hotel is a big, tall, cylinder. You will also get very good views from whatever room you are in. Of course always ask if you can get a room facing the river. It's a great view. You will also find plenty to do inside and outside of the hotel. The food court located in the Renaissance Center complex has over 15 restaurants and even a movie theatre. The hotel does also feature a swimming pool and workout room for your enjoyment.

The location also makes this one of Detroit's prime hotels. It's situated right on the Detroit river. You can walk right out onto the new Riverwalk and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Detroit river as you enjoy the nice view of Canada :). From the hotel, depending on what side you are facing you can also get some great views of The Detroit River and Belle Isle Detroit

The Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center is also right downtown. It is close to Greektown Detroit, Ford Field, Comerica Park, and Campus Martius. All of these places are within walking distance. Another great thing is that if walking is not your thing, the people mover has a station right at the hotel. Definitely consider the Detroit Marriott for your stay in the city. Prices start at $139.
